SUMMARY OF COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES - JULY 2009
Firstly, I would like to thank everyone who has been, and still is, involved with the Robina Exhibition. If you have not been to see it, you are missing out on a lovely display of members’ work. Cr Jan Grew and Ray Richardson were faced with the unenviable task of choosing winners for the Acquisition “Iconic GC” and Open Sections. Patricia Mita’s face would have made a classic photo when she learned she was the winner of the Acquisition Section, and I was extremely happy to have my “Kohekohe Church” chosen in the Open Section. Sue Black (Acquisition) and Ken Sparrow (Open) received Highly Commendeds for their lovely images.
July outing is a Hunt and Shoot at Cascade Gardens, followed by a BBQ, so come along for an enjoyable outing. Bring your camera gear and lots of enthusiasm.
Remember the Gold Coast Show is fast approaching and the closing date for entry forms is 3 August. Prints do not have to be delivered until Sunday 23 August. Show schedules will be available on Thursday night.
Practical night this month has been changed to accommodate guest speakers in August. Jeff will now have the Studio Lighting in July, so bring along your cameras and see how it is done.If you are having problems with any aspect of your photography talk to one of the more experienced members in the club. They will be more than happy to help you. Don’t forget to bring your camera manual.
The PSQ AGM - Open Meeting is on Sunday 9 August at 10am in the Chermside Library, Hamilton Street. Nomination forms are available from me.
The Interclub Digital Projected Images Competition will be held Saturday 29 August 2009 Registration from 9.30am. The venue is the Barry Jones Auditorium, Ipswich Library Complex, cnr South and East Streets, Ipswich. Map Reference 2009 UBD Map 213 Ref: E16. $3 entry. A selection of digital images will be chosen this Saturday for our entry in this competition.
That’s it for this month.
Best wishes
