ADOBE PHOTOSHOP LIGHTROOM (commonly referred to as LIGHTROOM)

LRM-screencapture2

Lightroom is my main post-production tool. It takes care of 90% of my RAW workflow...you ARE all shooting RAW. I’ll take that as a yes (LOL).

If you are not, I will show you why you could be and how this software negates the old argument that RAW takes too long to process. Trust me, the PROS outweigh the CONS.

I will show how you can quickly process a large folder of RAW images from importing from the memory card, to batch renaming, applying my camera calibration data to the RAW imports, making my first cull of those imports and through to tonal corrections, spot removal and even local dodging and burning. All of this with what is now described as a Non-Destructive workflow.

Finally I will show how to export the adjusted images in various sizes and file formats that suit my workflow. I will of course show alternatives that you may prefer to adopt.

The current software version at the time of writing this article is 2.3

The next course is being planned for May 09
